How to run a fix-first SEO audit in 15 minutes
18 August 2026 · 8 min read
Most SEO audits fail because they dump data without telling you what to fix first. A fix-first audit answers one question: what should I change this week to protect or grow organic traffic?
Start with one URL
Pick your homepage or your highest-value service page—not your entire site. Run a live check on that URL first. You want score, on-page issues, and a short prioritized list before you export anything.
Check the basics in order
Title tag: does it state what the page offers in ~50–60 characters?
Meta description: does it explain the benefit and match search intent?
Headings: one clear H1, logical H2 structure, no empty sections.
Images: alt text on key visuals (especially hero and product shots).
Internal links: do important pages link to each other?
Turn issues into actions
Group findings into high (blocks indexing or clarity), medium (hurts CTR or relevance), and opportunities (content or keywords you could add). Fix high items before you chase new content.
